It is Friday May 23rd at approximately 11:23 PM, and I am currently sitting on my bed staring blankly at the mess of clothes strung across all corners of my room. As of now, I am 4 days away from saying goodbye to NWA for the next month and my suit case is still 90% vacant. Much like the previous days in the week, I sit here and remain puzzled. What does one pack for a four week stay in Italy? The pressure is oppressive. As I'm sure you know, Italy is one of the most high fashion countries in the world; thus meaning that my clothing choices should be nothing short of impeccable. In regards to the previous statement, one would assume that i'd pack my most presentable, yet fashionable, outerwear to the Eternal City. That is the problem. You see, there is only so many chic ensembles a girl can fit in one suit case. As of now, I'm giving up on the packing in hopes that tomorrow brings more success.
On another note, I can't hardly believe that I will be leaving behind my family and friends in only 96 hours. Where has the time gone? When the thought of actually leaving is brought up my heart floods with emotion, mostly those within the nature of contentment; however I still have my doubt. Leaving home, not to mention the country, for 4 weeks on my own will truly be a test of maturity. If I can get by without my momma in a foreign country, I believe I will be qualified for absolutely everything beyond that point. Although i'm sure that i'll miss everyone in Arkansas, i am totally gratified to have this experience. I could not be more thankful for the loving parents that I have who gave me such a beneficial opportunity. And now, all I have left to do is pack.
